Fraud & Identity Theft

This is a list of Web Sites that offer various services or contain valuable information. (At least we think so!)

Do Not Call List Logo National Do Not Call Registry Free: The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free. Your registration will be effective for five years. If you are registered on the national Do Not Call list and you are still getting calls from major national marketers, you can contact:

  • Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov or www.donotcall.gov or 1-888-382-1222

  • Federal Communications Commission at www.fcc.gov (e-mail: donotcall@fcc.gov), 1-888-225-5322
  • DMA Logo Opt out of Direct Mail, Telephone, and Email Marketing Free: Some consumers would like to receive less advertising mail, fewer telephone marketing calls, and wish to reduce the amount of unsolicited commercial e-mail they receive  at home. Mail Preference Service (MPS), Telephone Preference Service (TPS), and the e-Mail Preference Service (e-MPS) are designed to assist those consumers in decreasing the amount of national nonprofit or commercial mail they receive at home. You can register online, or via mail.

Innovis Logo Experian Logo Opt out of Credit Card Solicitations Free: Every day your mailbox may contain an interesting offer of pre-approved credit or insurance. TruthOrFiction.com: This site is dedicated to clearing up Myths and Urban Legends that so frequently get passed along through emails. If someone sends you an email that sounds suspect, you can go to this site and see if it's true or not. If you frequently forward emails, PLEASE use this site before you do so.
